Skateboard parts

Nearly every skateboard is made from basically the same skateboard parts. Basic components such as the deck and wheels are fairly obvious, but there are many other parts as well. Most skate shops will be able to provide you with any parts you might need.

Aside from the deck and wheels, trucks and bearings are the other essential skateboard parts. Obviously, without bearings it would be very difficult for the wheels to spin with smooth consistency. And of course, without the trucks the wheels could not be attached and the board could not be steered.

There are other skateboard parts that are sometimes overlooked. Grip tape, for instance, is the best way to ensure one’s feet stay firmly planted on the deck. Mounting hardware for wheels and trucks is also essential.
